Hello there!
I’m Samuel, the friendly owner and editor of this website. I caught the poetry bug quite a few years ago; I remember recording down my poems and other works as a kid. There’s just something about poetry that makes me feel a little more alive and a little more sane, because it is a medium with infinite possibilities and therefore infinite room for expression, interpretation and enjoyment.
As time passed by and the path of my education brought me from Physics to Accountancy and Economics, poetry became a form of release – images would well up in my mind that I would turn to verse after verse in a poem. I began to share my poetry on my current blog and on various other sites.
What led me to begin building this site was a realization of a lack of readily-available poetry information: Wikipedia’s article on the various aspects of poetry is relatively slim, and most of the information is locked up in books and articles. I’m hoping that this site can one day serve that niche and serve as a poetry writing guide. It is still in its infancy and updating can sometimes be a slow process because I try to make the information presented as accurate as possible, but we’ll see!
Meanwhile, here’s a big thank you and a giant hug for stopping by. Feel free to drop a note at either my blog or the comments area below. Have a very lovely day!
Sonetti - a free e-book showcase of modern sonnets by poets from all walks of life - is now available for embedding or downloading!

Yes, that would be fine. I’d love it if you shared my sonnet.
nice one….love fantasies.
Sam, your presentation of the sonnets was accomplished with
great artistic sensitivity. Your goals for this site coincides with
my own belief that a broad background in and understanding
of formal poetry is the key to unlocking the ability to write all
poetry with skill and flair. Your site Sam is an important step
in educating those who still have a passion for poetry and want
to become proficient in many poetic forms both contemporary
and traditional, going back to Homer and Virgil. I thank you, Sam,
for choosing two of my sonnets for your showcase. I am honored
to be in the company of such fine poets. Sincerely, tom
